Kit Green is an artist. Working across theatre, music, experiential performance, comedy and cabaret, Kit’s varied career has focused on entertainment, social justice, gender and above all, hope.
From early years as a TV music researcher through all of her writing and performing career, all of Kit’s work uses music in some way.
It’s kinda hard to create a unified narrative about the work Kit has made over the years, except to say they are all things that fascinate her, and she thinks should be shared with a wider audience.
You can read more about all of these projects on their individual pages but works that capture some of this range of output might include:
Kit’s own brand of Immersive Theatre with the audience at the heart of everything, highlights include the portfolio of projects under the title of The Home about residential social care, Prurience about pornography addiction, and Office Party where the annual party gets a little out of hand.
Tina C. The iconic Nashville superstar. After 8 albums, a tv series, 9 BBC radio series, an autobiography, countless live appearances worldwide, 17 theatre shows and 23 years, Tina was retired to Nebraska to breed horses. There are rumours something big is happening in 2027.
Ida Barr. The people’s pensioner and purveyor of Artificial Hip Hop refuses to die and can still be glimpsed on the stage shaming the yut with her bars.
Legacy-6.com. Personal legacy and heritage through the art we love.
Always Here. Kit’s first album of original material. It’s about being trans and is available on all streaming services.
Kit is an original member of the Duckie Collective and with them won an Olivier Award for Best Entertainment.
The first Artist in Residence at the British Library which resulted in the book about hypnosis Overpowered!
Recently Kit has ventured into being an actor for hire, something that seemed impossible in earlier decades. This work nourishes and brings more energy to the self-motivated work and brings the opportunity to serve another director’s vision. This includes voicing a video game character, Shakespeare, playing an iconic character in a horror film, a contemporary opera and playing one of Virginia Woolf’s heroines.
OK – so believe it or not, that was the brief introduction.
Welcome to the shining uplands and dark valleys of Kit’s creative mind.
